LIVING: HOUSING ARRANGEMENTS
STUDYING at University of Glasgow in the physics program is fun but intense. After reading the answer to question number 3, I think you'll understand what I mean. A good day's worth of physics leaves you with one of two thoughts in mind (or two of two thoughts): EAT and/or SLEEP. It's like mental
surfing. You're brain feels like it's been hit by one wave after another for a whole entire day...good workout but a bit violent.

This button, on the left, is where I redirect you to the page of eating places that I have put in the EXPLORE section of the website as some post-class therapy (yes, that's a thing). On the other hand, we also have the SLEEP or REST form of therapy on our mind when we're coming out of class. Thus, I'll NOW be detailing the very important information that is intertwined with your study experience in Glasgow that keeps you happy and alive
...YOUR LOVELY GLASGOW HOME. |
SO, this is YOUR ROOM
JK. Actually that's some castle...This (Below) is where you actually live.
It's much better because there aren't sTERN-LOOKING-royal-people on the wall staring at you wherever you go.
LOOK, those Fancy pillars are just getting in the way.
YOUR ROOMS are assigned so don't plan on running to your housing from the airport just to beat your flatmates to the best room. It's true that not all housing is created equal, but where's the fun in zero diversity!? The answer is, there is no fun in that. Run with your luck and embrace the outcome is all I can say :) They all have their good parts.
To the left is the little envelope you get once the Glaswegian student directors/assistants get to the airport and pick you up in a van (don't worry the envelope doesn't come all crinkly and sad looking, that's just what happens when I touch things). The Glaswegians drop you off where you are going to live and in this envelope is your key to the next 8 weeks of your life (aka. your apartment, room, and wifi).

BEFORE IT BECAME A MESS. WHICH WAS AFTER THE FIRST DAY. I GUESS THAT MEANS THIS WAS THE FIRST DAY. |
SO ... IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN SOUTHPARK TERRACE 9D
THEN WHERE ARE YOU LIVING?
Here are all the other housing places that you might be placed in. Some are more dorm like, but all have their kitchens and stuff. You might have a roommate and you might not, but the quality of living is more or less the same for all the buildings. And we're all a few minutes walk away from school. Anyhow, whichever building you live in, I've found the real home to be the strangers that soon become your closest friends here at Glasgow.
So don't fret, it'll be fine. :)
